Weekly reflection

Friday 24 may

This week has been same old same old. Just the typical, maths, writing, reading, Re. We did winter sport on Thursday, we lost 18 - 0 in soccer. So that was not too good.

For inquiry we got emailed back by Megan woods.  We wrote to her asking her to consider having only copper free brake pads.  We also asked her for permission to put up a sign telling people to only use copper free brake pads.

Here's inquiry,

First post for 2019

Friday 8th of May

Hello,

This week has been a very "Sporty" week. And also this is my first post for 2019. On wednesday we had Cross Country, and on Thursday we had the catholic sports tournament. So Cross Country wasn't the best for me, because normally I get third, second or first. And I got 3rd... to last. For cross country I sat with James while I was waiting for my race, It was pretty nerve racking while I was waiting for my race.

The catholic sports tournament was fun. We had 7 games and they were ten minute games. We tied one and lost all of our other games. We only got one goal the whole tournament, which was by me.

end of term reflection

Hi everyone,

The highlight for this them has been cycle safety and korfball. I liked cycle safety because we get to ride around on your bikes and do games.  Luckily I know all the road rules like top of the T goes before me and that stuff, and I know the indicators and stop signal.

This term I liked korfball because basketballs my favourite sport, and korfballers like basketball.

I had a good term.

Next term I would like to do more science, particularly some experiments.

Here's photos,

Caritas refugee day

HI everyone,

Yesterday we did refugee day. We had to build a shelter. In my group I had Harry, James, Sean and Liam H.  The highlight for me was building our shelter because it teaches us survival. An interesting part was having to keep the structure up. Bye bye now.

Don the eel scientist

Don the eel man

Hello everyone,

Today a eel scientist named Don, he works at the National institute of water and atmosphere. He knows most about eels in New Zealand. He taught us lots of facts.

  • They eat baby birds and little ducklings.
  • At night eels can absorb oxygen from their skin.
  • Scientists take out mainly baby eels ear bone to see their age and they know by how much rings are on their ear bone.
  • Eels have very good smelling (etc, if you put blood in a deep river an eel at the very bottom or very far away can smell it).
  • Female eels need to be big to hold lots of eggs.
  • Long fin eels hide a lot in the day and come out at night.
  • Many many years ago eels lived in sea.
